What I did over summer vaca…conferences

Here’s a picture of me at Agile2006.

Pairing is good. I ended up with two complete unit tests – one in c++, and another in javascript – written with the help of strangers. I also helped some folks I had never met before work on a c++ test harness.

After a week off, playing single-parent to the boys while my wife and daughter visited colleges in the Pacific NorthWest, I’m ready to dive back in to work. Once i catch up on my sleep, of course :-)

On this week’s agenda is finishing a more final draft of a conference paper, collecting information about current test automation projects into a central location, preparing for attending Agile2006 next week, and general catching-up.

Welcome new folks

New folks to the moco qa group.

  • Rob Campbell, working on developer test stuff
  • Alice Nodelman, working on automated testing infrastructure and acceptance tests
  • Martijn Wargers, also working on automated testing infrastructure and acceptance tests

This is so cool!

… And a place to put it

Where should the mozilla automated tests and testing tool source code live? I’ve started a thread cross-posted to mozilla.dev.quality, mozilla.dev.builds, and mozilla.dev.platform to discuss this issue.

Two points:

  1. I’d like to pick a place or places in the next day or so. I’ve seen evidence of energy for creating test cases building up, and I don’t want to let that fizzle out
  2. We can change our minds later, and move stuff around.

Please feel free to join the discussion.
